That gap before his children Joseph and Susan looks suspicious. Are they children of the second wife? Note that I have Nancy Higgins' death date as 1844, so she was still alive when Joseph and Susan were born.

In the Kathleen Lamb collection at McClung Library is a piece of paper apparently written by this John Henry. He lists birthdates for himself and his wife, and their children Eli, Asa, Abigail, and James. Why is Levi not listed? Did he die young?

received $50 from John Jr for 250 acres in Jackson Co TN, in the middle district, being part of a Patent
Grant of 4400 acres granted by the state of NC to John Hinds and Francis Mayberry, grants 199 and
591 bearing date of 1792-04-02 beginning at the corner of John Hinds Sr, thence north crossing Wolf
River.
